Signal yellow, explained

Our only colour is not a trend choice. It is the shade drivers notice first in low light — and we tested a lot of yellows to find it.

Pyrane is mostly black, white and grey. The exception is a single shade we call Signal: a warm, saturated yellow that sits close to the colour of road-safety markings.

Tested at dusk

We dyed eleven swatches and photographed them on a dark street at sunset, at dawn and under sodium lights. Signal was the one that stayed readable in all three without turning green or orange.

It also fades gracefully. After a year of sun, it softens towards straw rather than going patchy.
