About — Rotterdam, since 2017

We make clothes for the in-between.

Pyrane started on a bike. Our founder Lotte Verhoeven spent six years riding 11 km to a tailoring job in a coat that was beautiful on the hanger and miserable in the rain.

So she started cutting her own: tailored enough for the meeting, technical enough for the ride there. Friends asked for one, then their friends. In 2017 the side project got a name, a studio on the Keilestraat and a workshop partner in Porto.

Today we are eleven people in Rotterdam and twenty-two in Porto. We still test every piece on our own commutes before it goes on sale — and we still repair every piece we have ever sold, for free.

Every pattern starts from a reach, a stride or a lean. If it looks right standing still but fights you on the bike, it is not finished.

We name our workshops, visit them four times a year and pay above the regional wage. You can visit them too.

Team

The people behind the pattern.

Small on purpose. Everyone here rides, runs or walks to work — and wears the samples first.
